Red-naped Sapsucker
Sphyrapicus nuchalis
Synopsis: Nests widely in cavities in aspens and riparian cottonwoods from the higher Cascades eastward. Most notable are the records from west slope of Cascades, southwestern Klamath County, eastern Lake County, and mountains of southern Malheur County. Hybridizes often with Red-breasted Sapsucker along the east slope of the Cascades.
